National Donor Sabbath Weekend is an annual three day period set aside to raise awareness about the critical need for organ and tissue donors and to encourage individuals to share their decision about donation with family members today - in order to save lives tomorrow.
It also allows donor families, transplant recipients, and their families the opportunity to encourage their spirtual advisors to devote a service to organ and tissue donation awareness. A congregation member may have been given a second chance at life by an organ transplant or another person in the church family may have saved lives through the donation of a loved one's organs and tissue. National Donor Sabbath Weekend is a perfect time to recognize and celebrate their gifts of life and honor those who gave.
On behalf of the more than 97,000 people currently awaiting a lifesaving organ transplant, Tennessee Donor Services urges you and your congregation to participate in this important event. For more information about how you can get involved contact your local TDS office or download free materials below.
